Winter Airconditioner Service

The summer heat is getting less intense lately. However, we still get those hot days now in June. The cooler months between June to October is a good time to get your split systems and box type airconditioners cleaned. The mold and dust accumulated during the summer period should be attended to before the christmas period. It also gets more busy at that as it gets hotter and visitors are coming for the festive season.

Some manufacturers now require your airconditioners get cleaned each year to maintain full warranty. If you haven’t had your airconditioner checked, cleaned or serviced in the last 2 years, it would be a worthwhile consideration. A clean airconditioner will perform more efficiently, save power costs, smell fresh and be less irritating for asthma and sinus sufferers. The fan area can get layers of dust and mold growing on the blower louvres. This circulates the dust particles and mold spores around the room. Most homes are closed up all day and very little fresh air is circulated throughout the house. Young children and babies are more prone to sickness associated with dust and mold. To minimise mold growth, let more fresh air and sunlight into the rooms. The air filters should be washed clean each 2 months during the summer months.

Dirty airconditioners could be causing hayfever, fatigue, sore throat and sore, dry eyes. These days, most Australians spend up to 90% of their time indoors, it is a growing concern. After work or on weekends, open up your windows and let fresh air circulate around the house for a while. It will help improve the air quality in your home.
